Marist St. Francis-Mary the Mother Montessori embrace the vision of a Catholic educational philosophy. Christian values and traditions of the Catholic faith are integrated into the curriculum and all teaching/learning situations, within and beyond the classroom.
Guidelines for the curriculum at Marist St. Francis-Mary the Mother Montessori is developed and implemented in cooperation with the Office of Catholic Education of the Diocese of Samoa-Pago Pago and the American Samoa Department of Education (ASDOE).

Marist Saint Francis Elementary School-Mary the Mother Montessori is a great place to teach and learn! Our teachers are committed to a high quality learning experience focused on the individual needs of each child. We are striving to be creative and innovative in our instruction to engage students in their learning through a variety of STEAM activities, applications of technology, and 21st Century skills.

The mission of the Eastern Vicariate Board to provide an education which:

• Is grounded in the Catholic Faith: All students attending our Catholic Schools will be knowledgeable and understand the teachings of the Catholic Faith.

Philosophy

The philosophy of Catholic Education is based upon belief in Jesus Christ who is God and following Christian values conducive to sound character, with good ethical and moral behavior. The governing principle of a sound Catholic Education is that all aspects of the person should develop in an atmosphere of a Christian community. The Catholic schools of American Samoa are a vehicle through which the moral, spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual development of school children can be competently guided and nourished. Through a self-discipline guided by Fellow-Christians, students develop their talents together with the attitudes that make them valuable members of their community and society.
